In "Drift issue 2" When the infamous Decepticon Deadlock failed in a mutiny against his commander and deserted, Megatron called on the bounty hunter Lockdown to find him and return him to the Decepticons. So he's not afraid to tell his colleagues exactly what he thinks of them, for better or for ill. He runs a very tight ship and is straight to the point. so he can earn an even topper dollar! Like any good bounty hunter, he's all business and does whatever it takes to haul his bounty in. Lockdown still stood dumbfounded.Lockdown will pay top dollar to get what he wants. Megatron relaxed as soon as it left his talon and cupped it in his other talon. The Prime swiped his tail at the weapon and smacked it out of the bounty hunter's reach. Optimus wasted no time in knocking the whip out of Lockdown's stunned grip. He hissed in pain at the electricity running up his arm. "You scared of this little thing, Prime?" he said swinging it down.Ī second later, Megatron raced to Optimus and caught the end of the whip in his talon before it sliced the Prime. He crouched to brace for the impact as Lockdown cackled and swung his arm up with an evil smile. That is, until Lockdown snatched the crackling whip still on the ground beside him.īumblebee watched Optimus' eyes widen at the sight of the weapon. The Prime may have been smaller but Optimus had the upper hand. Optimus sliced his talons across Lockdown's arm and punched the bounty hunter in the face. The Prime batted it away to shoot harmlessly at the ground. The green dragon lifted the freeze ray to Optimus' face. Lockdown heard Bulkhead call from across the battlefield, "They're waking up!" He could see Sentinel slowly beginning to twitch his talons again. Now, the bounty hunter just needed to get out of here alive, but his pride refused him to simply surrender, his weapon was good for something, right? His plan fell apart the moment Optimus Prime forgave Megatron. He did not count on the Autobots helping the decepticons. Lockdown was shooting anywhere he could, beginning to realize his predicament. "Zank you, Bumblebee."īumblebee grinned back before rolling out of the way of another blast. Random Blitzwing's big red smile grew wider and his gleaming red eyes scrunched in excitement. Figured one of these betrayals would happen. Icy Blitzwing shifted to show the jack o lantern-like face of Random, "Ve are very sorry, Bumblebee! Ahahahahaha! Ve vere very ztupid!"īumblebee smiled, "It's alright, big guy. "Oh sorry-" his one red eye widened when he saw the yellow scout, "Bumblebee! I'm so-" Bumblebee rolled into another dragon dodging blasts. He and Waspinator rolled to the side as the blasts rained down in their position. "I'll fill you in once our lives aren't in danger." Bumblebee said. "What happened while Waspinator out?" he asked. Waspinator flew over to Bumblebee with wide eyes. Prowl and Jazz each grabbed one of the seeker's skinny arms, ready to bolt. Starscream dropped to the ground and crawled away from Optimus and Lockdown, shaking with one talon pressed to his forehead. Lugnut growled at Lockdown while Blackarachnia squared up beside him. Ratchet hissed to Optimus behind Bulkhead, "I'm going to go see if I can reverse the affects!" the medic waited until Optimus gave a nod of approval before dashing across the battlefield with Bulkhead in tow to where Sentinel, Blurr, and Shockwave lay frozen.
Freeze ray shots rang out in the alley as the dragons scattered to avoid them. The Autobots gave a short nod to their leader. Optimus spun around to address the troops, "Autobots! Avoid the freeze ray! Do not let Lockdown endanger any human lives!" Megatron in particular had eyes like saucers and jaw hanging down. The bounty hunter flew a few feet before sliding across the asphalt, freeze ray still in his grasp.Įveryone was watching Optimus with wide eyes.
Optimus stumbled back a bit before spinning around and roundhouse kicking Lockdown across the head. "Get off of me, runt!" Lockdown shouted as he kicked up and his hind legs cut into Optimus' burned chest. The Prime glared down at Lockdown with eyes that could melt steel. He shook off the whip and didn't have time to look up before Optimus tackled him to the ground.
